Lump sum items are entered with generic information. For example, a plumbing package may have a different price for each plan elevation, but the item would read Plumbing Package. In EV2, the layer feature is used in contract items to specify prices that change from one plan or elevation to the next. See Layers.
The same layer used to build the takeoff item should be used to set up lump sum pricing. This allows different prices for the same item in a single contract. The user should contact the estimating team at his or her division for help in determining the correct layer for creating the takeoff item.
